Tree

A quick look at our tree this year. I just couldn't commit to an artificial one, so I did this instead. I think like it. I know Charlie Brown would.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving with Ty's family. Part of our time was spent at His sister Rebecca's house and part at a house on Lake Lanier. THe weather was great; chilly, windy and very Thanksgiving-ish.

Here, Davis getting a little grub.
D is helping cousin Angel with her Dora chair.
Ty, his Dad and his brother after they gave their Dad a flag that Chuck, Jr had flown over the US Capitol last Dec. 2nd, the 20th anniversary of Chuck, Sr.'s return home from Vietnam.
D getting in some playtime
Us Parkers with Ty's cousin Travis and Ty's sister Rebecca, holding baby Isobel
The boys
D loves the girls cousins (Angel and Eleana)
Chuck Sr., his sister Maxine, Ty and Chuck's brother Mike, a happy crew.
I could eat the thanksgiving meal every day and not get tired of it.

Halloween, really

Ok, it's November 24th and I just realized I never posted D's halloween t-shirt pics. Nothing earth shattering, but cute. So without further adieu...

Nice shot of the choppers

One happy kid!

Don't forget

So, this is what happens when you forget some of what you have in the garden....
Now that that's over... Ty has been working on the shed again. Here's his "swiss army" truck (compact, portable, and everything you need if you find yourself in a desperate situation) fully loaded.
Two of the walls are up here, they finished a little more before the rain. (I have to say this is not the most flattering picture of Ty, sorry babe, it's the angle).
Here's D with the "worky" hammer, ready for action.
Just doing a little work here.
Getting a laugh with D.
Headed to church in the outfit Hanner made

And this one's here just because it's so cute. Well, he is anyway.

A jedi in training, thanks uncle Chris!
On the plane headed home. He slept! Can you believe it? Grace of God, really.
We are having a good fall, just busy. But I'll try to be better about posting. I think I've heard that before.....

Even Keel

It's been a bit since I posted last. It's not that there's nothing going on, it's just that there's well.... nothing going on. Not in a bad way, a really nice, even keel, mildly scheduled good kind of way. Last week I started my fall bible study at Dogwood Church and I took D with me to the childcare. It's not like his first day of school or even his first day of preschool, but it seemed like a big step, for me. These next few pics are D looking all grown up on his 1st day.
Running away....
Climbing....
and very proud of himself. He's so old!
There, that's better, more baby-like.
On a completely unrelated and less interesting note, here is my garden. It looks like September. Starting to be a bit burnt-ish looking. I am in the process of drying all the rest of the tomatoes for use later in something. Notice the eggplant is still doing well. Anyone have any good recipes for eggplant?
This is it from the other side. You can see some of my fall veggies are planted. Brussels sprouts on the right, broccoli in the middle and peas on the left. The broccoli is hard to see because many of the leaves have been eaten by bugs, great way to start the season.
Speaking of pests, here is a very hungry caterpillar that I found on a pepper plant, he was....full. Doesn't he look happy? Huge, really huge.
I moved him elsewhere, maybe he's a butterfly by now. Ty would have kept him for a pet I'm sure, but I think he would prefer his freedom. Here's to a happy life, little green guy.
