Even Keel

It's been a bit since I posted last. It's not that there's nothing going on, it's just that there's well.... nothing going on. Not in a bad way, a really nice, even keel, mildly scheduled good kind of way. Last week I started my fall bible study at Dogwood Church and I took D with me to the childcare. It's not like his first day of school or even his first day of preschool, but it seemed like a big step, for me. These next few pics are D looking all grown up on his 1st day.
Running away....
Climbing....
and very proud of himself. He's so old!
There, that's better, more baby-like.
On a completely unrelated and less interesting note, here is my garden. It looks like September. Starting to be a bit burnt-ish looking. I am in the process of drying all the rest of the tomatoes for use later in something. Notice the eggplant is still doing well. Anyone have any good recipes for eggplant?
This is it from the other side. You can see some of my fall veggies are planted. Brussels sprouts on the right, broccoli in the middle and peas on the left. The broccoli is hard to see because many of the leaves have been eaten by bugs, great way to start the season.
Speaking of pests, here is a very hungry caterpillar that I found on a pepper plant, he was....full. Doesn't he look happy? Huge, really huge.
I moved him elsewhere, maybe he's a butterfly by now. Ty would have kept him for a pet I'm sure, but I think he would prefer his freedom. Here's to a happy life, little green guy.

Beach, finally

So for labor day we went to the beach to visit Hanner and Pappy. We have been wanting to go since we left the beach in June. So it was nice to finally go back. The weather was great, no melting on my part and the water was beautiful. Davis had a great time in the water, we were thrilled. Here is our hawaiian pirate in action.
I have a thing about sand, it freaks me out. It gets into everything. I am learning to let go of that. Nevertheless, an little cleaning off never hurt anybody.
Why use a stroller when you can use a shopping cart? A cute cart at that. We are eating lunch at Modica Market in Seaside, we eat/drink here frequently.
I love this obviously deep conversation that is going here between Hanner, Pappy and Davis.
Davis gets in a little walking practice. He needs shoes.
I adore him! Davis is cute too:)
He had a great time and so did we. I think we'll go back next week.
Oh, and while we were there, I fell in love with this house in Watercolor. I love that place. Almost every detail in our house renovation came from something we saw here. But this house, wow, I love everything about it. I wish we had gone in it while it was being built. But that was during the baby fog. But Ty said he'd build it for me. Thanks, babe!

Kisses

Davis loves to give kisses these days.
I mean REALLY loves to give them. He has a hard time stopping once he gets started, especially when he kisses Ty.
Not sure if you have ever noticed, but Davis looks a wee bit like, his dad...
Kisses again. He only puckers once in a while, it usually looks more like this.
Also, wanted to post an "action shot" of D walking. He's getting better at it for sure.
I think this will happen a lot soon, chasing on foot!
