Davis and I went for a walk yesterday to the library. He did a good job in the stroller and barely peeped inside the library. He was clinging tight to a tube of chapstic, great entertainment I guess. I enjoyed the walk and Davis enjoyed his cheerios on the way home. I think I understand why I see so many people walking with their kids, even in 95 degrees, it helps pass time for sure! But I digress... I picked up the book "Animal,Vegetable Miracle" per recommendation of my Emily and Uncle Tom. Looks good, a lot like the "Real Food" book I just finished reading. Also got two baby food cookbooks. I am struggling with what to feed Davis lately. He isn't a picky eater, I don't think, but he doesn't eat everything. Also, I feel like he is old enough that he should eat mixtures of things rather than just individual items. Like a casserole... Anyway, whenever I read about baby anything I always feel as though I have missed the boat or something and have obviously been neglecting my child by only offering him a few choices. But really, I think you just do what you can and get suggestions from other mothers and eventually you get over it.

The Davis clan visits Davis

So, did you have a favorite relative growing up? Mine was my uncle Tom, Mom's brother. He's funny, animated, quirky (sounds like all of our family), and he's very creative... ever heard of an ossnoss? I digress. We didn't get to see Uncle Tom and Aunt Barb much when we were growing up, they were always on an adventure somewhere (South Africa, Alaska, Costa Rica, Wales etc.), but when we did get to visit we always had a fun time. They came to visit earlier this week and we really enjoyed it. I have fun talking to them both about their adventures and now that I have a baby I like to talk to Auntie Barb and pick her brain about their life. I asked questions this time like "what did you feed your kids while you were traveling around South Africa?" and "what did you do for diapers?" etc. I think it is such a great way to remember that all of the things that I find are "hard" to do with Davis, really aren't that bad and maybe I should learn to be more adventurous!

Back to Reality
So the holiday weekend has passed and we had lots of fun, family/ friend time. However, it is now Monday and with Monday comes the laundry and, my personal favorite, IRONING! actually I do like to iron, but maybe not ALL at one time.
But this is what really makes me laugh, I am obviously married to a builder because I look at these pants and their dirt-stained selves and decide "yes, that's as clean as they are going to get" and satisfied with them, I IRON them, dirt stains and all. But you know what they mean? Those fabulous Georgia clay dirt stains are statements of God's faithfulness to us because they mean that not only is Ty a builder, Ty is a builder that is WORKING right now. He's busy, very busy and we are blessed!
But, back to ironing.....
Ahh, that's better!
*Happy 4th!*
*THE BEACH*
We had lots of fun at the beach last weekend. Much of Ty's family was there, which was nice. We had pics taken on the beach, that was fun, and funny. Plenty of wind-blown Parkers! Here's the link to Heather's blog, she was great!

Davis loved the pool and got very "pruney" he was in it so long. We were really glad he wasn't afraid of the water. It helped of course to have all that entertainment.

in our life right now that we went to the pool rather than the beach. We never could understand why people would go to the pool when they visit the beach. Why would you not just spend the day at the beach? We so get it now. I can just see Davis crawling all over the beach eating a gallon of sand. So, maybe next time. But for now we just enjoyed a walk on the beach instead.
I do think its a comment on where we are
